श्री मणि राम दास छावनी या छोटी छावनी (छोटी छावनी) विशेष रूप से राम जन्म भूमि विवाद के बाद अयोध्या में बहुत प्रसिद्ध स्थान है। वर्तमान महंत श्री नृत्य गोपाल दास ने अयोध्या आंदोलन में सक्रिय भूमिका निभाई और अभी भी हिंदू मुद्दों को लेकर सक्रिय हैं। इस मंदिर में आमने-सामने दो हवेलियाँ हैं। यह पुराना है और इसके सामने सफेद संगमरमर से बनी नई भव्य इमारत है। इसका केन्द्रीय कक्ष विशाल एवं लगभग 30 फुट ऊँचा है। इस भवन का नाम वाल्मिकी भवन है, जिसका नाम महाकाव्य रामायण के रचयिता महर्षि वाल्मिकी के नाम पर रखा गया है। इसकी दो मंजिलों की दीवारों पर संपूर्ण वाल्मिकी रामायण अंकित है। केंद्रीय कक्ष के एक छोर पर भगवान राम के दो पुत्रों लव और कुश और उनके गुरु वाल्मिकी की मूर्तियाँ स्थापित हैं।
Sri Mani Ram Das Chhawni or Chhoti Chhawni ( small cant ) is very famous place in Ayodhya especially after Ram Janm Bhumi dispute. The now Mahant Sri Nritya Gopal Das took an active role in the Ayodhya movement and is still active about Hindu issues. This temple has two mansions facing each other. This is the old one and in its front is the new grand building in white marble. Its central hall is huge and some 30 feet high. This building is named Walmiki bhawan, named after Maharshi Walmiki, the author of epic Ramayana. Entire Walmiki Ramayana is inscribed on the walls of its two floors. Idols of Lav and Kush, two sons of Lord Ram, with their Guru Walmiki are set at one end of the central hall.
